Without question, one of the ways we most miss God is by putting Him in our 'prefabricated boxes'.
So many things condition our boxes: Our upbringing, our religious training, our family, our friends, our culture, our schooling, our race.....there is no limit to the things that form our little boxes that limit what God is capable of doing. It's like a sieve that is over our brain, filtering out things that may in fact be God's provision for our good.
At this time last year, I was heading to Israel. It was cool in every way. What really struck me however, was how much Jesus completely and absolutely destroyed every 'box' that the people of that time imagined him fitting in. They thought he arrive as a world conqueror. They thought that he would be impressive in every way, that he the Messiah would be accepted by everyone, hugely popular.
He came completely outside of their 'filter'. They missed God's provision.
I have been thinking about this all day today. There are a number of things that I have been praying aout for quite a while. I wonder, though, ........is God wanting to reveal Himself in a way I am not open to, that I could miss? When I pray, am I just expecting Him to answer in "way A", when He may be trying to open me to "way y"?
Just a few thoughts today!!

So true and thru this Fast you will be "surprised by God". Are you open to being surprised? Do you want a fresh vision for your church and for your personal life? I should say OUR church for it has important work to usher in God's Kingdom. Also to help people grow to become servants rather than just seekers! You are our shepherd and we look up to you. It is a great responsibility & we are behind you all the way--in prayer and financial support for the REX vision. Blueprints to be drawn by just the right person/persons, plans for new place to meet that will not cost too much rent, more workers to catch the vision and stand/work with you/US!!!Praying for you my brother and my Pastor!
