A First Time Preacher

Well...not really. Just in "big church". :)

Brian Hassett, our Worship Director, spoke this past Sunday for the first time.  He did a FANTASTIC job! I well remember my first time preaching at Charity Chapel back in 1984.  It was horrible.  I was supposed to speak 40 minutes but ran out of stuff to say after 10. :)

If you have 30 minutes to watch the whole thing, it will bless you. But if not, make sure to watch the 1st 5 minutes.  The video that opens it is histerical!!!

HarvestNews Bloopers

Our Kingdom Builders Celebration Dinner last month was a HUGE success!  

If you dont know what Kingdom Builders is, we hold it 3 times a year to honor and bless all who we call our "OWNERS" at Harvest, ie, those who are helping to build the Kingdom of God in our city and beyond through serving and tithing at Harvest.

 We had around 150 who attended and it was a total blast! The Harvest Actors wrapped their sketches that were tied to movie themes around a fantastic 4 course dinner.  The atmosphere at Sanders Beach was perfect.  We opened up the evening by showing bloopers from the past year of Harvest News.  

Take 5 minutes to enjoy some really funny stuff!

Oh, and by the way, if you would like to be included in the next Kingdom Builders Celebration Dinner, it will be held on Saturday night, December 29th, again, at Sanders Beach Community Center.  It will be "New Year's Eve Eve Eve" :) so we will have alot of dancing to a DJ as well as great food.  How can you be included?  Simply start serving and tithing to show you are an 'owner' in your church here at Harvest and you will get an invitation in early December.

God has great things ahead for our church to do, but it will take YOU to help make it happen!

Plain Talk On Who I Am Voting For.....

Let me be honest:  I HATE election seasons.  

I hate watching anything on the news about elections.  I hate listening to politicians speak.  The truth is that I have lived through too many elections and know, oftentimes, how little difference who is in office makes.

BUT......

Some issues just can't be ignored.  For America, that issue is our national debt.  

Your household 'economy' is only a microcosm of the national economy.  Bottom line?  You WILL go bankrupt at some point if you just ignore mounting debt.  

Period.

I watched this piece by Tony Robbins this morning and it sums it all up nicely.  Tony is a great motivational speaker who needs Jesus.  But without question, he is one of the best communicators alive and able to summarize our problem sucinctly without a lot of fluff.  My suggestion would be to take the 20 minutes to watch this then turn your tv off from all political talk til its time to vote.  

Then just base your vote on this factor and nothing more, as our survival as a nation is dependant on dealing with our national debt.....a not waiting.
