Many of you have asked for the message we showed Sunday. Here is the link:
Deb, myself and the girls were able to get away to a condo in Panama City for 2 days (thanks Terry!) and did some SERIOUS "nothing" for 2 days. I literally sat on the 10th floor balcony watching the winter sun cross the sky from 10am to 4pm, reading, journaling, dozing.
I just wish we had a few more days..!! :)
While out on a beach walk, Deb and I talked about how much simple pleasures had taken on a new meaning in this past year. It is easy to become discontented in life. "If only" becomes our life mantra. And "if only's" tend to require more money. So we become discontented in that area as well. We begin to strive.
God has better.
After our walk, we were going up the elevator to the 10th floor where our room was, but for some reason, it went up to the top 23rd floor. Our instinct was to complain and go back down, but we decided to seize the opportunity and ran out to the far edge facing the ocean, and there, watched the sun melt into the ocean as it set.
It was wonderful. Simple. And didnt cost a dime. :)
I am determined to not complain in 2009. I am calling it what it is: Sin. When I complain, I am impugning the Sovereignty of God over my life, calling His goodness into question. That sin spreads to others, like a virus.
Not good.
I am done with striving. I embrace trusting. I am done with complaining. I embrace gratitude. I, you, we, have MUCH to be thankful for.
To God being more glorified with my life in 2009.....
PB
PS I have pasted a video that is short, but like the other, well worth taking the time for. May God break our hearts and convict us in the deepest ways so we truly can repent.....love you guys. pb
God is in control and God is love therefore I can rest in him...that in and of itself is a witness that can shake nations and win souls to the greatest lover of all

Every time I watch him I am inspired and my eyes well up! I look forward to one day shaking his hand and thanking him for his life. Wow!
