Our house right now is a beehive of activity!
Debs mom and sis with her 2 girls came in last night and are in the kitchen cooking chicken and sausage gumbo for the Friday night rehearsal dinner. Ahhh....nothing like the smell of gumbo filling the house!
Ellie (15 months) woke up around 5:30 this morning and with her our new pup woke up howling to get out of the crate. Everyone went to bed late......
The beginning of a LONG weekend for sure!
Parents and grandparents are at the church decorating. I just took Michael to lunch at Caribbean Soup Kitchen and gave him my wedding gift. I bought him a nice leather journal and wrote the first entry toward this, the biggest step of his life, "10 Things I Have Learned Toward a Life of No Regrets". We had some time to pray as well before we left.
From this point, things will move quick toward Saturday evening.
By the way, the ceremony is at 5pm at New Testament and it is open to the whole church. The reception will be downtown and is just for Michael and Courtney's friends and family, as the venue is limited in space.
We would love to see as many of you as can be there Saturday!
I am really excited about this Sunday as well. It will be great to see Craig again and hear him speak, as it will be to have The Listening leading our worship. We will be bone tired I am sure, as we have to tear down and clean up for the morning service, but it will be a blast!
I am so proud of Michael and Courtney. They are exemplary in every way. Some time next week I will take time to reflect some.....after we recover!
Grace,
PB
Bobby & Debbie: just learned of Michael's wedding via Jacob Head.
Funny the timing as I just posted a pic from ~'87 of me holding Michael in my arms, at some sort of camping advance we all went on (here's a copy: http://www.graphicmail.com/members/6961/ftp/Pictures/Pic_076.jpg).
I don't think I'd try that now ;-)
I remember distinctly how you would take time out at homegroup, no matter whom you were talking with, to discipline Michael, when he needed it. It was a great example to witness...and look at the result: a Godly man, marrying a Godly woman.
Indeed, "God does all things well..."
Have a great time!
