I had an acquaintance who did mission work in Central America for 2 years (he's now in seminary, btw). He told me something that I have not forgotten, something that the missionaries he worked with told him (and btw, I have noticed this myself in my own experiences). They told him, "The problem is not in America. The problem is in you." Now, what does this mean? Sometimes we as Christians can harp on how America is to blame for our apathy or our attitude or our whatever. But if you ever go to another country or at least somewhere that has a different social environment, you will notice that your attitude or presuppositions and assumptions do not immediately change. You take them with you.
I remember going to Alaska on a 10-week mission trip 3 years ago, thinking my whole perception and attitude and so forth would , "Poof!", change just like that. It didn't. The change was gradual, and it took a degree of effort on my part. The same reality was obvious when I went to Russia. Although a surrounding environment can and will influence a perception or attitude, ultimately it is a matter within us and not outside of us.

I haven't hollered at you in a while. I wrote my first complete song ever. It is what I was compeled to do. I asked God to help me do this; and well, It happened. Pastor Bobby, I don't know what exactly my purpose is. I click with folks age 1 day to promotion to God's reward. This another gift I have been blessed with. I know you may not understand a man who has had partial Godly influence in his life. You've been raised in the spirit your entire life.
To me; when I ask, the thing I get back is "you sure get people thinking about God". Anyway, heres the song. I surrender all rights to this song in the name of Jesus. Let your musicians make it flow the way they want it.

The Lonely Road

the lonely road winds through every soul…

sometimes by choice is why they walk alone]

thoughts of sorrow…

feelings of fear…

follow the hearts of those who travel here…

on the lonley road]

God only knows a sad saint’s heart….

it’s never to late to believe and let God make a new start]

walk with God on this road less traveled…

change and happiness is around the next bend…

so you don’t have to trave…l

on the lonely road]

if hope is the only thing a sad soul can poses…

it’s a lot more than what you can see or hear…

you’re never alone…

on the lonely road]

many souls travel here…

all or different, but shed the same tears…

God feels sorrow…

for those on the lonely road]

failure is a lesson learned…

get back up, mend the cuts, shake off the dust and remember…

what you’ve learned

on the lonely road]

our wisdom is a gift from God…

it’s passed down to help your brother walk down…

the lonely road]

listen well…

and just maybe…

you won’t have to walk…

down the lonely road]

Thank you,....I think I start visiting again soon.

God bless you
