Yesterday was a "Grand Slam" for us at Harvest!
Our band kicked it off with "Sing to the King", then afterward, we did a spine-tingling video piece that took the actual sermon of LM Lockridge, an elderly African American preacher, and tied it to various images on the screen. It built and built in intensity, til at the end of end, everyone just shouted...very cool!
Worship was wonderful,... especially after that! I loved the new song we did that Karen Loftis led out on, "Wonderful God". I am convinced it will become a staple we do, as people really authentically worshipped.
Other highlights were the music video Bill Robinson created to images from the Passion, tied to the song by Michael Tait, "O My Lord". He spent well over 30 hours creating it. We will be sending it off to a contest for best homemade church videos in Washington, DC in early May, as well as other videos we have created. My message, "Dare to Hope", I felt connected, and was taped for TV. Look for it to come out May 1st. Greg Sexton singing "Swing Low Sweet Chariot", accapella, to illustrate one of my points on keeping our eyes toward eternity was powerful. As he sang the last verse, I just wanted to melt into mush right there on the stage....:-)
I am deeply proud of our church and all the work everyone does every week to win people toward Christ. So many people, from our Host Team, to our worship team, to our tech team, to our children's teams and others, come HOURS early each week because they care.
Kudos to you guys. God doesnt forget your love and service. (Gal 5)
I am excited, folks....... I love this church and thank you for all you do. Its work, but its FUN work, as we have the priveledge of making a difference in people's eternities....!
Have a great week,
PB
Sing to the King. LOVE that song! It was the first song I learned from your church. I would love to hear it every Sunday!
