Last Saturday, Roger and I went to the Theater of Fine Arts in Birmingham to watch The Screwtape Letters. Simply put, it was amazing.
So much so, I emailed the company in NY to see if they would bring it here to the Saenger!
I was so blown away, I decided to go to Amazon and order not the book, but the dramatized version Focus on the Family did. I do not have adequete words to express how fantastic it is! I listen to it when I am in the car and it is SO good, I am on my 2nd go round, capturing and savoring this wonderful gem.
If you dont know the story, CS Lewis wrote it during the war, after being inspired by a dead boring sermon on spiritual warfare in his church. It is written from the perspective of a 'senior demon' in hell, Uncle Screwtape, instructing a student demon, Wormwood, in how to effectively capture the soul of his assigned person on earth. I can honestly say that in ALL I have ever read on the subject of the spiritual realm, this far surpasses with depth of insight that is blowing me away.
And it is HILARIOUS!!
Do yourself a favor and order it here.

Thanks Bob!
This was on my wish list. Andy Serkis who plays Wormwood, also played Gollum in the Lord of the Rings and in the upcoming Hobbit. I had heard that he spearheaded this production.
Grace and Deep Peace!
