- Been out for a week and it felt good to largely UNPLUG. Too much technology cant be good for our souls!
- The OneDay Catalyst Conference in Orlando was amazing. Andy Stanley may just be the smartest person I have ever heard. Craig Groeshel is FUNNY!
- The importance of continually seeing your church through the eyes of UNchurched people really stood out. It is too easy to start speaking 'Christian-ese' and stop seeing the lost.
- Had a fun time hanging with my friend Robert Pooley. We saw Tron on the Imax one night and it was AMAZING.
- Men At The Cross retreat in Golden, CO, was SUPER AMAZING. Snow, snow, and more snow and cold, cold, cold.
- I would have to say it was the most impactful event I have participated in over 30 years as a Christian. That is saying alot.
- Emotional bondages are like heavy weights in our souls. We are weighed down and can't experience the JOY we were created for.
- Our emotional brokeness also hurts others. We become emotionally unsafe people. We can love God with all our hearts, yet because of emotional baggage, be unsafe to those close to us.
- Jesus came to set us FREE, spiritually, emotionally, physically. The church has historically ignored our emotions, thinking them bad or something to be ignored.
- Emotions are to be 'signals' to heed and pay attention to, that help lead us to God. We can only relate to God and others out of realness. Most of us don't. We have "false selves" we present to people as well as bring to God.
- False self is the 'flesh', our own unique sinful man. We all act out of these false selves in accordance with childhood experience whereby we yearned to be loved and accepted, as well as to protect ourselves.
- I wont bore you with more, but GREAT stuff, putting skin on the Bible in a way I had not seen before.
- Heard Pastor Rich knocked it out of the park Sunday, as well as Karen leading worship. Its nice to know we have such depth at Harvest.
God is GOOD.....
